Prof. Sundeep Oberoi attended the 185th meeting of the Standardization Management Board (SMB) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This meeting was held in to town of Torre Canne – Fasano in the Brindisi province of Italy from Feb. 21-26, 2026. Prof. Oberoi is a member of the SMB representing India along with Smt. Reena Garg – DDG Standardization at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).IEC is the leading international agency developing technical standards in the electrotechnical area. The IEC develops standards from common everyday products like mobile phone to sophisticated industrial control system, Unmanned Aviation Vehicles, power grids and many others. Fifteen countries are represented on the SMB of the IEC of which India is one.
