Industrial and Economic Policy

Analysing the impact of economic reforms, foreign direct investment, and regulatory governance on industrial productivity, technology transfer, and sustainable manufacturing.

Overview

Industrial and economic policies play a key role in shaping the trajectory of developing nations. Research in this area examines the complex dynamics of industrial growth, focusing on the impacts of foreign direct investment (FDI), technology transfer, and regulatory governance on manufacturing productivity. As economies transition, it is crucial to understand the dualism within manufacturing sectors, the effectiveness of informal and formal environmental regulations such as vehicular pollution control and renewable energy adoption and the efficiency of public systems ranging from health to agriculture.

The Centre aims to critically analyse these economic structures within the Indian context. By evaluating the outcomes of economic reforms and institutional innovations, the focus is to formulate robust policy frameworks that promote sustainable industrialisation, equitable resource distribution, and enhanced economic performance.
