Working Paper Series

ADCPS welcomes working papers (WP) from faculty, PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting fellows affiliated with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Alumni can also submit papers for review if the research was conducted while being affiliated with ADCPS/IITB. The target audience of ADCPS working papers includes fellow researchers, think tanks, policymakers, and the media.

The papers submitted to the WP series should be of high quality, based on rigorous original scholarly research, and should make a substantive contribution to existing public policy literature. Papers submitted can be preprints of papers already under review in an academic journal/book, papers submitted to conferences, or papers in an advanced stage of research. The papers submitted should be complete in all respects, with no grammatical or typographical errors.

The papers submitted will be first reviewed by the internal editorial committee to decide whether the paper falls within the scope of the working paper series. The paper will then be sent for peer-reviewing to a well-known scholar with appropriate disciplinary expertise. Contributors are encouraged to suggest names of three scholars who can potentially be the reviewers of the paper. Once the review comments are given by the reviewer, the author/s are expected to revise their paper to address the comments. The final decision of accepting the paper for publication will rest with the internal editorial committee.

Submission Process

Papers submitted should be within a range of 5000 to 8000 words, excluding references and tables. References should follow APA style. Working Papers should be emailed to office.cps@iitb.ac.in, keeping naveenbharathi@iitb.ac.in in cc. PhD students will be required to send papers through their faculty advisors. In the email, please include a brief abstract of the paper submitted (around 300 words) and the names of three potential reviewers. Upon receipt, it will take a few weeks before the final decision is conveyed to the author. Once accepted, the paper will be given a working paper series number and will be uploaded on the ADCPS website with open access and automatically be cross submitted to ADCPS’ Social Science Research Network (SSRN) page. Once the papers are accepted, the authors are also encouraged to write a blog post based on the working paper, which can be shared with a relatively wide audience.
