Topic: An Intersectional Approach to Understanding the Needs of Older South Asians in the US
Speaker: Dr Nidhi Khosla, PhD, MPH, PGDRM, is an Associate Professor of Public Health at California State University, East Bay. She has a unique training in behavioural, organisational, and epidemiological research methods and field experience in managing health programs and working with communities using participatory, rights-based empowerment approaches. Her research concerns access to care among vulnerable populations and reducing health disparities. Currently, she focuses on increasing access to and satisfaction with end-of-life care among minorities, especially people of South Asian origin. She has also researched organisational behaviour, such as collaboration among HIV agencies. Dr Khosla received her PhD in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and her Master in Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
