About the Speaker:
Sanjoy Hazarika is International Director of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI). Scholar, author — most recently of Strangers no More, new narratives from the Northeast — he is also a commentator, journalist, filmmaker, policy analyst, and human rights advocate. He was the founder-Director of the Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He is the Managing Trustee of C-NES which runs the pioneering boat clinics on the Brahmaputra in Assam state, NE India, in partnership with the National Health Mission. He was recently appointed as a member of the Consultative Group for North East State Division, Niti Aayog Government of India.
